Space Rhino was a medicinal cannabis cross literally created in Tweedy Bird’s backyard in Abbotsford back in 2002 or 2003 (sorry to be less than perfectly specific, the memory’s a little hazy today!). If that admittedly hazy memory is correct, only a small number of Space Rhino seeds were shared, and they were offered primarily in support of charity auctions for individuals such as OBSS’d, who had been victimized by the war on drugs.

Here’s the original description we gave for this variety . . .

named primarily from the mingling of the soaring “space” of it’s Apollo 13 father . . . and the powerful medicinal potency of it’s White Rhino grandmother . . . the three_little_birds are proud to present their first C-Bay offering born and bred at “the nest” . . .

Space Rhino is a result of a delicious and hardy White Rhino x Bubbleberry mother . . . and a strong Apollo 13 stud father . . .

the White Rhino is a well known medicinal strain which has great potency and is easy to grow . . . it’s bred by Shantibaba and it’s heritage is said to include original WhiteWidow . . . the only complaint we’ve heard about the W.Rhino itself is a lack of flavor . . .

combined with the Bubbleberry we found the White Rhino to be greatly improved . . . it became a very nicely flavored herb with mildly sweet almost fruity undertones . . . it was absolutely delicious . . . the White Rhino x Bubbleberry mother was a long-term favorite of the 3LB collective that featured a great aroma and flavor and a great balance of head and body effect . . .
but we decided the collective could work to improve this strain even more . . .

we used a strong Apollo 13 stud for the father in this breeding effort . . . as the pollen donor we are hoping it will add a more heady / sativa dominant effect to this already excellent medicinal strain . . . we’re certainly looking to see if the select Apollo 13 father will add some additional kick for medical users seeking extreme potency . . .

bringing together the genes of White Rhino, BubbleGum, Blueberry, and Apollo 13 . . . the genetics of Space Rhino should produce a well pedigreed and good behaved offspring . . . one can expect this strain to be a fairly easy one to grow with an expectation that it will take about 8 to 10 weeks to fully mature . . .

The “Rhino-Berry” was a long term favorite of Tweedy bird’s for her own personal medicinal use, it was a tasty, and powerful, smoke. Believe it or not, those seeds were originally a gift to Tweedy from a breeder named Rez-Dog who now sells his wares through Gypsy Nirvana. The Apollo 11 male was sourced from the SSC or GET and originated from a breeder named Stash (if memory is correct there too), who was an infrequent poster at Cannabis World.
