A Sheboygan man who called police to his house to investigate a wallet theft is facing charges after officers found marijuana and drug paraphernalia throughout the home, according to a criminal complaint.

Lance D. Hermann, 24, of 1539 N. 13th St., was charged Monday and faces up to seven months in jail if convicted on misdemeanor counts of marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the complaint:

Hermann called police Friday to report his wallet went missing after a woman stayed at his house for several days. Officers were let into the house by a roommate — who was described as nervous, short of breath and jumpy — and spotted a pipe containing burnt marijuana in the kitchen area.
After police obtained a warrant, a search of the house revealed a padlocked portion of the basement that had specialized lighting, reflectors and piping consistent with a marijuana grow lab, but there was no evidence the equipment was being used for that purpose. Officers did find drug paraphernalia in five different rooms, including Hermann’s bedroom.
No charges have been filed against the roommate or the woman who stayed at the home.
