 Welcome to the semi-official ribbon cutting and “grand”1 opening of the 3LB’s Cannabis Chronicles!
About a year ago, after the loss of Overgrow and CannabisWorld.com, the three_little_birds medicinal cannabis collective gathered to decide on a future path. While we lamented the loss of several years of posting with the disappearance of those message boards, we also resolved to find a way to avoid such a thing ever happening again.
Before she formed the3LB, Tweedy Bird had administered message boards at a pair of sites dedicated to medical users, the MedSeedProject and CompassionKonnection. Those sites were literal precursors to current online communities for medical users, TreatingYourself and CompassionCorner. With that background, it was only logical that we began discussing creating our own forum.Â
However, the more we thought about that prospect, the less it appealed to us. A great number of forums and discussion boards for cannabis enthusiasts and medical users already exist, and it seems like more and more are created all the time, so we questioned what was the sense in simply revisiting that concept yet again?Â
Then we began to consider the “blogging” medium as an alternative, and we asked the advice of a good friend, Milly Blunt. After bouncing the concept off him, Milly replied something to this effect, “Sound’s really good babe!”Â
With that little bit of encouragement, we began doing our homework, choosing WordPress as our blogging platform, and then researching hosting plans and other necessary details. About August 1st, 2007, the Cannabis Chronicles went online, with the goal of having all the bugs worked out, and everything ready to present to the public by the 1st of September. What you see here is the result of that month’s work by our collective.

Congratulations on your Grand Opening! I’m delighted that Cannabis Chronicles exists. I think it’s a terrific idea. I will spread the word and visit often.
The site is very well thought out. I’m the worst navigator in the universe, but I’m finding my way around.
Wonder what this site will be like on your first anniversary in 2008?

First let us say thanks to our new friend, River Rat, we certainly appreciate the kind words!
Muggles and OBSS’d, you are both dear friends of the entire flock, and in many ways it’s safe to say that the Cannabis Chronicles never would have been “born” without your past advice and encouragement.
Coming to Cannabis World and meeting fine folks like yourselves was a life changing experience for me, just as the SSC was a life changing experience for Tweedy Bird. The work you have both done quietly for the community has literally laid the foundation for much we’ve accomplished ourselves.
